User suspension policy

Bark maintains a safe, fair marketplace for everyone. This article explains when and how we take action on accounts that don't meet our standards.

When can Bark suspend or terminate an account?

We may take action where a user fails to meet our standards, including:

  • Illegal activity
  • Serious or repeated customer complaints
  • Complaints from regulatory or law enforcement bodies
  • Continued policy breaches following a warning or suspension
  • Abuse towards customers or Bark staff
  • Hate speech towards any user, our staff, or on a Bark profile or associated website

How we make decisions

We may be alerted to issues by other users or through our own account checks. Each case is reviewed individually using all available information before any action is taken.

What action can we take?

Actions range from a formal warning to an immediate and permanent account suspension, depending on the seriousness of the issue. We will always provide a written explanation of the action taken and the reasons behind it.

How to appeal

If your account has been terminated and you believe the decision was wrong, you can appeal in writing within 30 days. Your appeal should clearly explain why you believe the decision should be overturned and include any supporting evidence.
