WordPress.org

Although WordPress.org is more complicated than other common website building tools, you can still add the Bark badge to your site, and it is still relatively easily using the Enhanced Text Widget plugin:

  1. Go to the Plugins tab in your WordPress dashboard and search for the Enhanced Text Widget. Download and activate it.
  2. Next, hover over the Appearance tab in your dashboard and select Customise from the menu.
  3. In the customisation window, select Widgets and then choose where you want to add your badge from the options provided. We recommend adding it to your site’s sidebar or header.
  4. Click Add Widget and select Enhanced Text from the menu provided. This is the plugin you downloaded earlier.
  5. Copy your unique badge code from the Badges tab in your Bark profile and paste it into your new widget’s Content box.
  6. Click the Save & Publish button at the top of the customisation menu to save your changes.

Once you’ve saved your changes, your Bark badge should appear immediately on your website in your chosen location.

WordPress.com

For security reasons, WordPress restricts the use of scripts on WordPress.com sites to a handful of trusted partners; such as Facebook and Twitter. Since the Bark badge contains elements of JavaScript, it will not work on the WordPress.com sites at this time. We’re working with our tech team to build a solution to this problem; and if you email badges@bark.com we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we’ve developed a suitable workaround.

Who can review me on Bark?

Absolutely anyone can review your business on Bark, regardless of whether you found them through us.

In fact, we recommend emailing all your customers asking them to leave their feedback on your Bark profile. You can do so with the click of a button using the ‘reviews tool’ in your Bark profile.

What if I get a bad review?

Even the best businesses get bad reviews from time to time. But if you get one you feel you don’t deserve, we’ll happily look into it for you.

Simply click the ‘report’ flag next to the review in question to submit it to the team for review.

We’ll happily remove any review from a customer you have no record of. Reviews containing inappropriate language, abuse or sensitive information will also be removed upon request.

What if I don’t have any good reviews?

Your Bark badge will only display your star rating if it’s 3.5/5 or above.

If you don’t have enough good reviews right now, the stars will be replaced by a strapline asking customers to leave you more reviews.

People who click on your Bark badge will be taken to your Bark profile page, where they’ll be able to leave their feedback and give you a rating out of five.

Is this review service free?

Yes! All you need is a Bark profile and we’ll host the reviews you receive from all your happy customers completely free of charge.

You can then show off your Bark star rating on your business website using the brand new Bark Reviews badge.
